African refugee is facing a deportation probe after he tried to rape a teen in a “humiliating” attack.

Prince Saidi , 35, had moved to the UK from the Democratic Republic of Congo after fleeing the ongoing Kivu military conflict in 2015.

He has now been jailed for six-and-a-half years for attempting to rape the teen, 17, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Home Office officials confirmed to Daily Star Online they have been referred his case for deportation.

Saidi grabbed the victim’s breasts before dragging her to the floor.

He then pulled off her clothes and tried to rape her in the horrific crime .

The refugee had been granted “indefinite leave to remain” in the UK after ending up in a refugee camp in the Congo.

A Home Office spokesman told Daily Star Online: “Foreign nationals who abuse our hospitality by committing crimes in the UK should be in no doubt of our determination to deport them and we have removed over 50,000 such offenders since 2010.

“All foreign national offenders are considered for deportation and Mr Saidi’s case has been referred to the Home Office.”

The Congo remains in a state of conflict and may still be considered too dangerous to send him home.

Saidi also has three children in the UK, aged five, three and seven months.

His defence described the attack as a “moment of madness” and claimed he saw signs that were “misconstrued” when he attempted the rape.

Saidi was convicted of attempted rape, sexual assault and assault after a trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.

The incident occurred after the girl had called at Saidi’s home to pick up a bottle of baby lotion for his estranged wife.

She found herself locked in the property before the sex offender squeezed her breasts and molested her as she begged him to stop.

Saidi dragged her into the living room, removed her clothing and pulled down his trousers.

He only stopped when she threatened to tell the police and her parents.

The refugee apologised and she ran home, but upon confiding in her uncle he advised her not to call the police.

She only complained in June, 2018, when she heard false rumours were being spread about her being an “easy girl” – for which she blames Saudi.

In a statement read to the court, the victim said she feels Saidi has “taken her virginity”.

The victim has also been left with suicidal thoughts and suffered so much stress she had to be rushed to hospital from the witness box due to stomach pains.

Defence barrister Mark Fireman said: “He knows he must face a custodial sentence and will serve that sentence in a country not his own and first language not his own.’’

She added the whole process has left her “whole life on public show”, saying it was “humiliating” and “one of the worst experiences I have been through”.

Sentencing Judge Angela Nield sad: “You are a citizen of eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo who came to this country as a refugee.

“The victim had entered in order to collect some baby lotion and attended by the arrangement but unbeknown to her she was locked inside that house and you proceeded to treat her to a dreadful and terrifying experience.”

Saidi will also have to sign the Sex Offender Register for life and was banned from contacting the girl under the terms of a restraining order.

He is also banned from working with children or vulnerable adults when he is released from jail.
