A man has been jailed after entering a woman’s home through a window and raping her twice while her children were in the property.
“He has shown no remorse throughout this investigation and now faces several years behind bars for his actions,” DC Moran added.
Abdul Hamed, 35, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Thursday, December 5.
The court heard how Hamed, in the early hours of June 18, entered the victim’s home – who he knew – and raped her twice while her children were inside the property.
Police were informed about the incident the following day and Hamed was arrested shortly after.
He pleaded not guilty to the offences, but a jury unanimously found him guilty after a six-day trial and he was jailed for six years and eight months.
DC Ashleigh Moran of Swindon CID said: “This was a traumatic incident for the victim and I want to thank her and commend her for her incredible bravery that she’s shown throughout this process.
