A TV Director from Bradford who was hired to attend a film school with children has been sentenced for sexual communication with a child.
Lee Salisbury aged 46 of Tong Street admitted to engaging in sexual communications with a child.
The offending took place between March 29 and April 12 this year.
Salisbury managed to obtain the children’s personal phone numbers, messaging them privately after the film school had finished. The conversations from Sailsbury were in a sexualised manner relating to sexual activity.
His offending was then reported to the Bradford Online Child Abuse Investigation Team. Sailsbury was arrested, his house was searched, and electronic devices seized.
He was later charged with the offence and remanded into custody.
At Bradford Crown Court on 22 July he pleaded guilty to the charges.
Yesterday (18 September) the judge at Bradford Crown Court sentenced him to 12 months in prison but suspended for 16 months. He was ordered to sign on the sex offenders register for 10 years and given a 5 year sexual harm prevention order, £2000 compensation to victim and £1000 to pay for court costs.
Police Constable Scott Tyson of the Bradford Online Child Abuse Investigation team said:
“Salisbury was in a position of trust, where children looked up to him, he took advantage of them.
“I would like to praise the victim in this case for bravely reporting the crime to us.
“Bradford police take all reports of sexual offending extremely seriously and any such offences are always fully investigated by specialist safeguarding detectives.
“We continue to encourage anyone that believes they or a child they know, has been the victim of an online sexual offences to come forward, no matter when the offences took place.”
