Naveed Akhtar, 43, of Newport Place, Manningham, Bradford BD8 8 also known as ‘Nav’, was found guilty of two counts of rape, and not guilty on one count rape and was sentenced to 17 years for his part in the Asian Grooming Gang that operated in Bradford in 2016. During sentencing Akhtars previous convictions where revealed which includes previous offences of criminal damage, drugs offences and drink driving. His solicitor took a deep breath crossed his fingers and told the Judge Akhtar is “a married man with three children, who has never been in custody and has no previous convictions for offences of this kind”! then realised how stupid that sound to normal people when his client received 17 years for now being a married child rapist with three children, who has 17 years to be in custody and has one conviction for offences of this kind. This shows how in denial these types are.
