Kamran Mahmood, of Harvey Crescent, in Arleston, Telford, had been out of prison on licence for four months when he attacked an 18-year-old woman in a nightclub in Wellington in November 2022.

He was jailed for six years at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Thursday after being found guilty6 of rape.
Mahmood, of Harvey Crescent in Wellington, was not known to his victim and was arrested following an appeal, West Mercia Police said.
Det Insp Steve Goddard said he wanted to commend the victim for the “immense strength” she had shown in assisting police throughout the investigation and trial.
“I hope the sentence given to Mahmood sends a clear and strong message that we can and do take all reports of rape seriously and will work tirelessly to secure charges against those responsible,” he added.
